My reason for becoming a photographer is very similar to why I chose to become a musician; I enjoy sharing emotional art with others. This fact still rings very true today; just now with a camera in-hand rather than a trumpet.

Portrait photography could easily be compared to being a performance. You're showing off the best version of yourself for a brief moment in time. Allow me to give you your stage.

Before picking up a camera, I spent 10 years playing trumpet. Although you probably wouldn't want to hear me play now, I've lived a musical life.

Being able say and understand things like "sickled foot" and "stick heights" can be very beneficial in this line of work. Details matter.
